Visual Field Examination Employing Friedmann Visual Field Analyser

Abstract
|
|
|
We examined the visual field employing the Friedmann visual field analyser in 14 normal eyes, 17 ocular hypertensive eyes, and 35 glaucomatous eyes and compared the results with those using the Goldmann perimeter. The results were as follows:
1. The Friedmann visual field analyser is highly compatible, and represents the visual field change rather accurately.
2. The Friedmann visual field analyser can be accomplished in a very short time, and the results obtained by a non-skilled examiner is also very similar to those obtained by a skilled examiner.
3. The Friedmann visual field analyser can be used as a static perimeter.
4. The Friedmann visual field analyser had some superiority in detecting minute relative or absolute scotoma in the visual field.
5. The Friedmann visual field analyser can be used as a screening test in those patients who need a visual field examination, especially in glaucoma screening.
